Where evidence meets everyday parenting — an educational platform built by Kansas birth and family specialists.
Parenting Laboratory is the online educational arm of Topeka Doula Project, Inc., a Kansas nonprofit dedicated to supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. Based at 2303 SW College Ave in Topeka, our team of doulas, educators, and maternal health advocates created this platform to share practical, research-informed knowledge with parents across the state and beyond.
We believe every family deserves access to clear, trustworthy information — not overwhelming opinion threads or conflicting advice. Parenting Laboratory distills current best practices into readable articles, guides, and resources you can use at 2 AM when you need answers most.

The "Laboratory" in our name reflects a core commitment: we don't just share tips — we study what works. Topeka Doula Project, Inc. conducts community-based research on parenting support methods, postpartum mental health interventions, and birth preparation programs that improve outcomes for Kansas families.
Findings from our studies inform the articles published on Parenting Laboratory, ensuring content reflects real-world outcomes — not trends alone.
Parenting Laboratory is an educational resource. We provide general information about pregnancy, birth, newborn care, and parenting. We are not a medical provider, and our content does not replace advice from your physician, midwife, or licensed mental health professional.
